Warner Southern College

Warner Southern College’s Department of Fine Arts, under the direction of Dr. Steven L. Darr, offers cultural programming that enhances both campus and community life. The Warner Southern College Concert Choir’s productions of Sounds of the Season and Liberty! bring more than 14,000 guests to the Lake Wales campus each year. Other performing groups are the Collegiate Chorale, Young Americans, Instrumental Ensemble and Handbell Choir.

Sounds of the Season, the college’s annual Christmas concert, is presented the first weekend of December.

Liberty!, a patriotic musical, offers performances in March each year. The Handbell Choir & Instrumental Ensemble, Young Americans and Collegiate Chorale perform throughout the year both on campus and at venues off campus.

Performances for Sounds of the Season and Liberty! are held in the TurnerAthleticCenter on the west campus. A cast and crew of 250 including students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and friends of the college bring together their talents in staging these productions.

Warner Southern College, founded in 1968, is a private, Christian liberal arts institution that offers Associate, Bachelor and Masters degrees. The college consists of the main 325-acre campus for traditional students, which is located five miles south of Lake Wales on both the east and west side of Highway 27. Additional class sites for working adults to complete a bachelor’s degree through the college’s School of Professional Studies are found in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, Melbourne, Titusville, Deland, Leesburg, Lakeland and Port St. Lucie. The school provides a quality education for about 1,000 part time and full time students. There are 106 faculty and adjunct faculty members, 140 full and part time staff, and nine administrators serving the college.

Warner Southern College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees.
