GENERAL MEMBERSHIP  & BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

Minutes-January 11, 2009

Juried Art Show Update: 

Forty-five artists submitted somewhere over 80 entries.  The Annual Art Show opening reception was exceedingly well attended with over 90 attending.

Dee Dee NeSmith reported that our Scholarship Winner from last spring attended the Art Show reception January 9 and expressed her appreciation for the award and updated board members on her plans to start college this semester.

The group congratulated Diane Lescard for her leadership and success as the Annual Art Show Director.

  Society of Decorative Painters:  Saturday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m. is having a meeting and workshop at the Gallery.

  Tom Lynch Workshop:  It is scheduled February 2-4 at the Gallery.  He is an excellent teacher.   The seminar fee is $300.00 seminar fee.  There is a $100 brush incentive for anyone who brings in a new sign-up.   Everyone who signs up gets a free print of his work.

  3-D & Decorative Art Show:  Entries are due in no later than Friday, February 6th. Reception is on Sunday, February 8th at 2-4 p.m.

  Wearable Art Show: Will be held March 9th at 2:00 pm. The theme is WILD ABOUT...  People who want to work on it can join on Fridays.

  Benefit Concert with Fred Moore for the Care Center: The performance will be EVENSONG… with church-centered music.  It is tentatively scheduled for

Friday, March 6th.  

  Flywheelers:  Some artists will be doing demonstrations at Flywheelers Feb 15-18.

  New Classes:  A jewelry class is tentatively going to be held in January and a new Quilting class will be scheduled in February.

While the New Board members met, the general membership participated in an auction of art books, raising $68.50.
